The softball team lost a conference doubleheader (4-1, 3-1) to the College of Staten Island on Saturday afternoon at the CSI Softball Complex.

Staten Island pitcher Krysta Kinsella (New Jersey/Middletown) pitched the complete game victory (7IP, 6H, 1ER, 3K), while Kristina Schipani (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph by the Sea) had the game’s big hit with a double to score two runs in the second inning.
In the night cap, the Bearcats suffered a very competitive 3-1 loss to last year’s conference champions.
Baruch jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning on another RBI single by Duran to score Alexandra Orrico (Bronx, N.Y./Preston).
Staten Island answered with a run in the third inning and two in the fifth inning to post the 3-1 victory.
The key hit came from the bat of Tina Bellocchio (Staten Island, N.Y./St. John Villa) and her double scored Megan Donohue (Staten Island, N.Y./Susan Wagner) for the winning run.
The Bearcats will look to shake off their weekend disappointment with a conference doubleheader against Lehman College on Monday. First pitch at Lehman College is scheduled for 3:30 pm. (Please note Baruch is the official home team in this doubleheader)
