Big Sixth Inning Lifts Mount Saint Mary Over Bearcats

The Blue Knights from the College of Mount Saint Mary recorded 15 total hits en route to a 13-4 victory on Thursday afternoon in Newburgh, New York.

Brian Visconti (Newburgh, N.Y./Newburgh Free Academy), Chris Sacca (Franklin Square, N.Y./Valley Stream North), and Anthony Forgionne (
Franklin Square, N.Y./Valley Stream North) had three hits apiece as the home side scored 11 runs in a three-inning span.

Benjamin Riofrio (Queens, N.Y./Bayside), Greg Polius (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Mary's) and John Avona (Staten Island, N.Y./Farrell) had two hits each for visiting Baruch.
 
David Chestnut (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth) had two total RBI, including a single in the third inning to score Riofrio.


Polius hit a triple in the fifth inning to score Riofrio for the second time.


Mount Saint Mary used seven total pitchers to record their 11th victory of the season.

The Bearcats will return to action on Saturday with a Noon time home conference doubleheader against Lehman College. Please note the game will be played at Kingsborough Community College.
