Bearcats Lose Tough Non-Conference Game to Mount Saint Vincent (4-2)

The baseball team lost 4-2 to Mount Saint Vincent in a game played on Wednesday afternoon at Columbia University's baseball field in the Bronx.

The visiting Bearcats scored twice, via a run in the fourth inning on an RBI single by David Chestnut (Brooklyn, N.Y./Nazareth), and a two out RBI double by Greg Polius (Brooklyn, N.Y./St. Mary's) in the ninth inning.

Ramon Grullon (Brooklyn, N.Y./Murry Bergtraum) started on the mound for Baruch and pitched well by going five innings, allowing only one earned run and five hits.

The Dolphins from Mount Saint Vincent, who recorded their 17th win this afternoon, got off to a quick start in the game with a first inning home run by Joe Blackford (
Stewartsville, N.J./Warren Hills).

Baruch will return to action this Saturday when they open a weekend conference series against the College of Staten Island. First pitch for Saturday's doubleheader at CSI is scheduled for Noon.
