Women's Tennis Bounce Back, Cruise Past York College (7-2)

The women’s tennis team beat York College, 7-2, in a CUNYAC match played Friday afternoon in Jamaica, New York.

The Bearcats swept all three doubles and won four singles to record the victory to improve to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in the CUNYAC standings (3rd Place).

Monika Maiellano was victorious at #1 singles, 6-2, 6-1, and teamed up with Natasha Gregorio to win at #1 doubles, 8-5.

Shalanda Graham was victorious at #3 singles, 6-0, 6-4. She also teamed up with Mariam Mkrtchyan to win easily at #2 doubles, 8-0.

Alexandra Vamanu and Alina Bero combined at #3 doubles to win, 8-0.

Filippa Noghani had a solid afternoon by posting a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #5 singles.

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Columbus Day, Monday, October 12, with a pair of CUNYAC matches against Medgar Evers College (10:00 am) and City Tech (Noon).

The two matches on Monday morning will take place at the York College tennis courts in Jamaica, New York.
