Women's Swimming Defeats Rival Hunter for the First Time in Team History

The women’s swimming team won by a meet score of 61-34 to record their first-ever victory against rival Hunter College in a CUNYAC meet on Friday night.

With the victory on CUNYAC SAAC night, the Bearcats improve to 4-4 and a perfect 3-0 in CUNYAC, while Hunter drops to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in CUNYAC.

continued her outstanding Baruch rookie season by breaking her own school record again in the 50 free. Jessica Penaherrera was victorious in the 200 free, 100 butterfly, and as a relay member in the 200 medley relay.

Heather Alvord was the top swimmer for the home team Hawks with a first place victory in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke.

The women’s swimming team will battle Lehman College on Monday night, January 11, in a 6:00 pm meet in the Bronx that will decide the CUNYAC regular season first place championship.
