The baseball team lost a non-conference doubleheader to Richard Stockton College on Saturday in Cocoa, Florida.

The Ospreys of Richard Stockton took control in the first game with a 17-hit attack that featured five runs scored early in the first inning and 11 total in the fourth inning of play.

Despite the big deficit, the Bearcats continued to battle back with five runs in their final at-bat of the seventh inning, but it was not enough to suffer the 18-6 defeat to an opponent from the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC).

Joseph Murray led the Bearcats (six total hits) with two runs scored and two walks, while Ronnie Rojas had a big double to clear the bases for three RBI during the seventh inning rally.

Marc Asta led Richard Stockton (8-6 record) by batting 4-for-5, with a double, triple and four runs scored in the victory.

In the second game, Baruch (3-6 record) took an early 2-0 lead, but the Ospreys rallied back with 10 total hits for the 7-3 victory to clinch the doubleheader sweep.

Jules Ryan Alonzo led the Bearcats (eight total hits) at the plate by batting 2-for-2, with two singles and a stolen base. Joseph Murray batted 1-for-3 with a single and run scored.

Chris Wedding led Richard Stockton by going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and four runs scored.

The baseball team will complete their Florida schedule on Sunday morning with a 9:00 am single non-conference game against Norwich University of Vermont.
