Women's Tennis: Rutgers-Newark 7, Baruch 2

The women’s tennis team lost a 7-2 non-conference contest to Rutgers-Newark on Saturday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey.

The Scarlet Raiders won five of the six singles and two of the three doubles to win the yearly battle between the two teams.

The visiting Bearcats (1-4) recorded their two points at #6 singles and #3 doubles.

Marianna Kogan won at #6 singles by the scores of 6-0, 6-1, and teamed up with Michelle Bravo to win at third doubles in an exciting tie-breaker, 9-8 (7-5).

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, September 21, with a CUNYAC road match at Hunter College. First serve at the U.S. National Tennis Center is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
