The men’s cross country team finished in third place at the Hunter Invitational that took place on Sunday morning at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

Hunter won the race by placing three runners among the first 10 to cross the finish line with 44 points. SUNY-Maritime (69), Baruch (74), John Jay (130) and Brooklyn (197) rounded out the top five teams.

Overall, a total of 17 teams competed with at least five runners, while three other teams did run but did not carry the minimum of five runners for team scoring.

Gilbert Marte led the Bearcats in fifth place overall, while Omar Griffin was right behind in sixth place. Hiroshi Nobuoka (12), Agustin Lastra (16), Jeffrey Cheung (41), John Moroni (44), Rey Perez (60), Deon Marecheau (112), Siwen Liao (120) and Anthony Situmeang (133) all competed for the Bearcats.

SCORING: Please note, in cross country team scoring, only the first five runners that finish for a team count towards the team's total points. Therefore, if a team places runners in 3, 9, 10, 12, and 23rd places, it totals 57 points. The team with the lowest point total wins the race. If a team does not have five runners in the race, they do not count toward the team scoring.
