The women's tennis team lost their season opener to the State University of New York at Purchase by the score of 8-1 in a non-conference match played on Tuesday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

Purchase (1-0) won five of the six singles and all three doubles to defeat the Bearcats (0-1) in a battle between CUNYAC and Skyline Conference teams.

Kristine Kraujina recorded the lone point of the afternoon by winning her #1 singles encounter against Tova Hadar by the score of 6-1, 6-0.

The women's tennis team will return to action on Friday, September 10, with a 3:30 pm non-conference road match at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
