The men’s and women’s swimming teams each concluded the regular season portion of their schedule on Wednesday night by defeating the State University of New York at Maritime Privateers in a non-conference meet.

The women won in a rout by the score of 171-78 to improve their regular season record to 8-3 overall.

The men also won big with a 121-102 score to raise their overall record to 6-4. The six wins ties the team record for most wins in a season since they also recorded the same 6-4 record during the 2008-09 season.

Priscilla Arana broke the highly respected women’s school record previously established by Daniela Sepulveda in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:58.28. Patrick Campbell broke his own men’s record in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:08.14.

The men’s and women’s swimming teams will now focus and prepare for the 2011 CUNYAC Championships scheduled for February 3-5, at Lehman College in the Bronx.
