The women’s tennis team lost an 8-1 non-conference contest to the Panthers of SUNY-Purchase in a non-conference home contest played on Saturday afternoon on the tennis courts of York College in Jamaica, New York.

The visiting Panthers won all three doubles and five of the six singles to record the victory.

The Bearcats earned their lone point at #6 singles with Olga Shevchenko recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Columbus Day, Monday, October 10, with a pair of home matches to be played at the tennis courts of York College. The Bearcats will play rival Hunter College at 10:00 am, followed by Medgar Evers at 1:00 pm.
