Bearcats Stay Undefeated in CUNYAC, Defeat Brooklyn College

Women: Baruch 102, Brooklyn 70
Men: Baruch 99, Brooklyn 74

Relays: 1st place – 11pts, 2nd place – 4pts, 3rd Place - 2pts
Individual: 1st Place – 9pts, 2nd Place - 4pts, 3rd Place- 3pts, 4th Place – 2pts, 5th Place -1 pt

The men’s and women’s swimming teams each recorded victories against Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC home meet that took place on Friday night in the Aquatic Center.

With the winning result, both teams each improve their record to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in CUNYAC.

Sally Lim led the women by breaking the school freshman record to win the 100 meter butterfly and teamed up with Priscilla Arana, Julia Sung, and Alyssa Lubrino for a victory in the 200 meter medley relay.

Sung easily won the 100 meter freestyle and broke her school record in the process.
Jacqueline Smith (800 meter freestyle), Natalia Gonzalez (50 meter freestyle), Denisse Duran Llano (200 meter individual medley), and Arana (200 meter freestyle) all claimed victories in various events.

On the men’s side, the Bearcats began the meet by recording a victory in the 200 meter medley relay behind the efforts of
Daniel Donis, Robert Stumpf, Patrick Campbell and Bryan Vivero. Donis also won the 100 meter butterfly.

George Martinez (800 meter freestyle), Gabriel Yanez (200 meter freestyle), Ryan Flynn (50 meter freestyle), Jeffrey Wong (100 meter freestyle), and James Chang (200 meter individual medley) also recorded victories in events this evening.

The men’s and women’s swimming teams will return to action on Friday, November 18, at 6:30 pm, with a non-conference meet at Division I Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York.
