The men’s and women’s swimming teams each lost to Division I Manhattan College in a non-conference meet on Friday night in Riverdale, New York.

The women lost 103-76, while the men lost 103-87 to each suffer their second defeat of the 2011-12 season.

The men were led by James Chang who recorded the lone individual win in the 100 yard butterfly event with a time of 56.16. He also finished third in the 200 yard freestyle and second in the 200 yard medley relay with Gabriel Yanez, Jeffrey Wong and Ryan Flynn.

Flynn was second in the 50 and 100 yard freestyle events. Yanez finished second in the 200 yard I.M. and third in the 100 yard backstroke.

The women were led by Julia Sung with a victory in the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard backstroke. She finished third in the 200 yard freestyle.

Priscilla Arana won the 100 yard breastroke and finished second in the grueling 1,000 yard freestyle. She was also third in the 500 yard freestyle.

Sally Lim finished second in the 50 yard freestyle, 100 yard butterfly and 100 yard breastroke.

The 200 yard medley relay team of Sarocha Chinsena, Natalia Gonzalez, Yulia Lavrentieva and Diana Luong finished second against Manhattan.

The men’s and women’s swimming teams will return to action on Monday, November 21, with a 6:00 pm CUNYAC home meet against York College.
