Bearcats Fall to Rutgers-Newark (9-0)

The women’s tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss to the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark in a non-conference contest played on Friday afternoon in Newark, New Jersey.

The two teams were initially scheduled to play on September 6, but the match was postponed by rain and rescheduled to this afternoon.

Rutgers-Newark won all six singles and three doubles encounters to raise their overall record to 3-1, while the visiting Bearcats drop to 0-3.

Lisa Kurner played the most competitive match for the Bearcats, losing at #4 singles with a score of 7-5, 6-1.

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Saturday, September 17, with a 12:00 pm non-conference road match at Farmingdale State.
