Big First Inning Leads NJCU Past Bearcats (12-4)

The baseball team lost a 12-4 non-conference contest to New Jersey City University on Tuesday afternoon in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Gothic Knights from the
New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) scored 12 runs on 16 hits. They began the contest by scoring seven runs in the first inning en route to the home victory to hand the Bearcats their second consecutive loss to an NJAC opponent.

Thomas Daly, the CUNYAC Player of the Week and the first Baruch baseball player ever named to the D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week, batted 2-for-5, with a run scored. Thommy DeJesus batted 2-for-4, and had a two RBI double to left field in the sixth inning. John Yuksekol scored two runs.

The baseball team will continue their schedule on Thursday, April 19, with a non-conference home game against the State University of New York at Old Westbury. First pitch at MCU Park,
the home of the Brooklyn Cyclones, is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
