The women’s tennis team defeated the Cardinals of York College, 7-2, in a CUNYAC match played on Friday afternoon in Jamaica, New York.

The Bearcats (2-2, 2-0 CUNYAC) began by winning the three doubles and clinched the victory by winning four of the six singles to raise their early conference record to a perfect 2-0.

Patricia Gomes Correia was victorious at #1 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and teamed up with Amandine Le Goupil-Maier at first doubles to win, 8-4.

Jennafer Mukofsky, the CUNYAC Rookie of the Week, won at #3 singles, 6-1, 6-4, and teamed up with Lisa Kurner at #2 doubles to win a tight encounter, 8-6.

The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 22, with a home match against William Paterson University scheduled for the updated time of 1:30 pm. The match will be played at the York College Tennis Courts.
