The women’s tennis team lost a 6-3 non-conference contest to the State University of New York at Purchase in a non-conference match played on Thursday afternoon in Purchase, New York.

The visiting Bearcats dug themselves into a hole early by beginning the match losing all three doubles. They split the six singles to suffer the final 6-3 loss to an opponent from the Skyline Conference.

Patricia Gomes Correia was victorious at first singles with a score of 6-2, 6-2. Amandine Le Goupil-Maier began her college career with a victory at second singles, 6-3, 6-1. Lisa Kurner rounded out the third point by winning sixth singles, 6-1, 6-3.

The women’s tennis team will return to action on Tuesday, September 11, with a 3:30 pm CUNYAC home match against Lehman College. The match will be played at the Lehman College tennis courts, but Baruch will serve as the home team.
