Women's Tennis Knock Off Rutgers-Newark (6-3)

The women's tennis team defeated the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark, 6-3, in a match played on Friday night at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats (5-4) started by winning two of the three doubles and then won four of the six singles to wrap up the home victory on a warm and humid night at one of the most prestigious tennis locations in the world.


Allie Jackson-Hing was busy again winning at first singles, 6-1, 6-0, then teamed up with Amandine Le Goupil-Maier for an 8-4 victory at first doubles.

Amanda Naraine recorded a victory at fourth singles in tie-break (6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (12-10)), while Diana Fedorkova was victorious at sixth singles with a 6-1, 6-3 score.

The Bearcats will have a quick turnaround with a match Saturday at 12:00 pm at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
