Swimming Teams Defeat Brooklyn on Senior Night, Women's Win Streak at 29

The men's and women's swimming teams honored their seniors by defeating the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College in a CUNYAC home meet on Monday night in the ARC Aquatic Center.

The women's team won their 29th straight CUNYAC meet by winning 143-60, while the men captured a 133-67 victory to finish their regular season home schedule on a victorious note.

The Bearcats will finish their regular season schedule on Friday with a 6:00 pm meet at Lehman College in the Bronx.

WOMEN

*The 200 medley relay team of
Adrianna Martinez, Lauren Rouchou, Daniela Giraldo and Amy Sung won first place with a time of 2:21.66.

*
Rose Lee was first in the marathon 800 freestyle (11:40.56) and second in the 100 freestyle (1:07.36).

*
Daniela Marquez finished first in the 200 freestyle (2:28.38) and 100 freestyle (1:05.86) events.

*
Julia Sung remains undefeated during her Baruch career within CUNYAC with three more first place wins in the 50 freestyle (29.18), 100 backstroke (1:13.69), and 100 breaststroke (1:19.61) events.

*
Sally Lim took first place in the 200 individual medley (2:43.40).

*Giraldo, who earlier was a member of winning 200 medley relay, took first place individually in the 100 butterfly (1:12.75).

*
Charlotte Berger was second in the 400 freestyle with a time of 6:02.75.

*The Bearcats ended the meet with Marquez, Lee, Lim and Giraldo winning the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 2:03.70.

MEN

*The Bearcats with
Jacky Lau, Jin Lin, Shpresim Haxhaj and Mike Szczepankiewicz started by winning the 200 medley relay with a time of 2:04.56.

*
Michael Matskovsky won the long 800 freestyle (10:25.60) and later the 100 backstroke (1:11.01) events.

*
James Chang had a successful senior night by winning the 50 freestyle (28.00), 200 freestyle (2:19.75) and 100 butterfly (1:06.16) events.

*Lau also won the 200 individual medley (2:22.34) and 100 freestyle (55.63) events.

*
Daniel Donis, one of the three male seniors honored this evening, contributed to the win in the 400 freestyle with a first place time of 5:05.55. Jeffrey Bosmediano was second with a time of 5:38.20.

*Yakov Yusupov finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:25.29.
