Bearcats Suffer Another Walk-Off Loss in Ninth Inning, Fall to King's Point (6-5)

For the second time in three games, the baseball team suffered a loss in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The United States Merchant Marine Academy, better known as King's Point, rallied in their final at-bat with three runs to record a 6-5 victory in a game played at the St. Joseph's Baseball Complex in Patchogue, New York.

The Bearcats took an early 3-1 lead in the top of the third inning. Philip Loprete had a fielder's choice RBI to score John Yuksekol and Zachary Uher smacked a two-run single to plate Loprete and Nicholas Pomo-Roman for the early two run lead.

King's Point (8-2) from the Landmark Conference tied the game in their next at-bat with a two run single down the left field line.

The visiting Bearcats (3-8)  scored again during their next at-bat in the fourth inning. Pomo-Roman hit a two run single to plate Emerson Del Carmen and Matthew Ballone for a 5-3 lead that stood until King's Point rally in the bottom of the ninth.

The baseball team will enjoy a brief break in their schedule and will return to action on Sunday, March 23, with a 1:00 pm single game at Mount St. Mary College (Skyline Conference) in Newburgh, New York.
