Swimming Teams Start Season at William Paterson

The men's and women's swimming teams started their 2015-16 schedule with a non-conference road meet at the Pioneers of William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey on Tuesday night.

The visiting Bearcats put out a strong effort against the Pioneers and recorded several exciting highlights in New Jersey. For a complete list of individual accomplishments, please read below.

The swim teams will resume their schedule on Thursday, November 12, with a dual meet against Queens College and Adelphi University in Flushing, New York.

Women's Highlights
 
*The women's team led by senior co-captain Rose Lee finished the night with 3 second places in the 200 Medley Relay, 100 Backstroke and 200 Freestyle Relay.

*Freshman Wendy Ambrosio dominated the distance events winning both the 1,000 & 500 Freestyle, along with finishing third in the 100 Butterfly.

*Freshman Yee Chung Phang collected 2 second place finishes in the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke events.  
 
Men's Highlights
    
The men's team was led by senior co-captain Jacky Lau, who finished first in the 200 and 100 Freestyle events. He also finished first in the 200 Medley Relay along with teammates: Jonathan Hla (who would finish 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke), Miguel Meza (who finished 2nd in the 100 Butterfly & 3rd in the 200 Individual Medley) and Andrew Lubrino (who finished 3rd in the 50 & 100 Freestyle).

*Sophomore David Scholes dominated the distance events winning both the 1,000 & 500 Freestyle, along with finishing in second place in the 100 Backstroke.

*Sophomore David Pejovic would finish in second place in both the 200 Individual Medley and 100 Breaststroke, wile finishing fourth in the 100 Freestyle.
