Swim Teams Compete in Tri-Meet Versus Division II Queens College & Adelphi University

The men's and women's swimming teams competed in a tri-swim meet against Metropolitan Conference Division II rivals Queens College and Adelphi University.

During a tri-meet, the three teams race against each other and score separately against head-to-head. See point system below, as well as highlights for the evening meet at Queens College in Flushing, New York.

The Bearcats will return to action on Monday, November 13, with a 6:00 PM CUNYAC meet in their home opener against York College.

Relays: 11pts (1st Place), 4pts (2nd Place), 2pts (3rd Place)
Individual: 9pts (1st Place), 4pts (2nd Place), 3pts (3rd Place), 2pts (4th Place), 1pt (5th Place)

Women's Highlights:
*The Medley Relay of Gabrielle Huezo, Dora Li, Rachel Samuels and Safiya Sergeant was victorious against Queens and second to Adelphi.

*Freshman Wendy Ambrosio in the arduous 1,000 Freestyle won against Queens and was second against Adelphi. In the 500 Freestyle, she was triumphant against Queens and third against Adelphi.

*Co-Captain Rose Lee was victorious in the both the 200 Freestyle & 100 Backstroke events against Queens and second against Adelphi.

*Freshman Gabrielle Huezo was second in the 200 Freestyle against both Queens and Adelphi. In the 100 Butterfly, she was victorious against Adelphi and third against Queens.

*Freshman Yee Chung Phang was second in the 200 Individual Medley against Adelphi and third against Queens. In the 100 Breaststroke, she was second against both Queens and Adelphi.

*In the last event of the evening for the women, the 200 Freestyle Relay, the team of Rose Lee, Safiya Sergeant, Wendy Ambrosio Yee Chung Phang were triumphant against Queens and second against Adelphi.

Men's Highlights:
*The Medley Relay of David Scholes, Jonathan Hla, Sam Fassler and Giuseppi De Angelis were second against Queens and Adelphi.

*David Scholes won the 1,000 against both Queens and Adelphi, and was second in the 500 Freestyle against both Queens and Adelphi.

*Co-Captain Jacky Lau also racked up a pair of wins against both Queens and Adelphi in the 200 Individual Medley and100 Backstroke.

*Co-Captain Miguel Meza won the 100 Butterfly against Queens and second against Adelphi. He was second against Queens in the 200 Freestyle.

*Co-Captain Jonathan Hla won the 100 Breaststroke against Queens and was second against Adelphi.

*In the last event of the evening, the 200 Freestyle Relay, the team of Jacky Lau, Andrew Lubrino, Miguel Meza, and Thomas Le were second against Queens and Adelphi.
