Ramapo Rallies to Defeat Bearcats (3-2)



The baseball team lost 3-2 to the Road Runners of Ramapo College on Sunday afternoon in Mahwah, New Jersey.

The visiting Bearcats started by scoring a pair of runs in the second inning, but the Road Runners won the non-conference game in the bottom of the ninth with three runs for the walk off win.

Zachary T. Uher started the scoring in the second with an RBI single to plate Nicholas LaForgia. Jesus Ozuna Perez followed with a long sacrifice fly ball in foul territory that enabled Donovan Hunt to score for the 2-0 lead.

In addition to his contribution at the plate, Uher was as solid on the mound pitching eight scoreless inning (5 H, 2 B, 9 K).

The Road Runners won the contest with three runs on four hits in the bottom of the ninth for the home win.

The Bearcats will return to action on Tuesday, April 21, with a 4:00 pm non-conference home contest against the Stevens Institute of Technology. The game will be played at Westchester Community College.
