Bearcats Out-Hit U.S.M.M.A. in Three Tough Sets (27-25, 28-26, 25-22)

The women's volleyball team swept the Mariners from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in a non-conference home match played on Monday night in the ARC Arena.

The two teams played a hard-fought match, which went the extra distance in the first two sets, but the Bearcats pulled out the win with timely hitting with 27-25, 28-26, 25-22 scores.

Overall, the Bearcats totaled 44 kills compared to 26 by the visitors from Long Island.

Sydney Parks led the team with 12 kills, while Symone Green and Akilah Meulens tallied nine each.

Crystle Dela Cruz totaled 39 assists in the three sets. McKenzie Davidson led the team with 18 digs and Alessandra Chavez recorded four aces.

Dominique Pope led the Mariners with seven kills.

The Bearcats will resume action on Thursday with a 7:00 pm CUNYAC contest at York College in Jamaica, New York.
