Bearcats Finish CUNYAC Schedule at 7-1, Sweep CSI

The women's volleyball team defeated the Dolphins from the College of Staten Island in a CUNYAC match on Tuesday night in Staten Island, New York.

The visiting Bearcats posted scores of 25-11, 25-13, 25-19 to finish the CUNYAC regular season portion of their schedule in second place at 7-1. The team has earned a quarterfinal round playoff bye and advance to the championship rounds scheduled for Friday, November 4, at home in the ARC Arena. More details will be announced next week.

The Bearcats will finish their overall regular season schedule this weekend at the SUNY Oneonta Dig Pink Invitational with a match on Friday night against Plattsburgh State, followed on Saturday against Hartwick College and the hosts SUNY Oneonta.

Against Staten Island tonight, the Bearcats received a solid effort from Akilah Meulens with 12 kills. Sophia Shahipour also had a fantastic match with five kills, hitting a torrid .444, to go along with a career-high six aces.

Stephanie Cornwell was busy again with 27 assists and 12 digs. Marisa Bou tallied a team-high 18 digs.
