The women's volleyball team concluded their 2016 campaign by falling in the CUNYAC Tournament Championship against rival Hunter College on Friday evening in the ARC Arena.

Down 20-16 in the first set, the Bearcats rallied to tie the score at 23 before Hunter was able to score the final two points to win, 25-23.

The second set was much of the same as both teams matched each other's attack to keep the score close. Tied at 20, Hunter rallied to take the next three points en route to a two-set lead with a final score of 25-21.

The third set began with the Hawks racing out to a quick 3-0 lead before the Bearcats regained composure to tie it 9-9. The Hawks, in the end, took the third (25-22) to capture the CUNYAC championship in three sets.

Akilah Meulens (12 kills) and Stephanie Cornwell (26 assists, 10 digs) were each named to the All-Tournament Team.

Tonight's match was the eight consecutive year in which these two programs have played for the CUNYAC Championship.
