Softball Sweeps John Jay (11-0, 9-1), Team 4-0 in CUNYAC

The softball team is 4-0 in the important CUNY thletic Conference (CUNYAC) standings after sweeping the Bloodhounds of John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Sunday afternoon at Randall's Island.

The two teams were scheduled to play Saturday, but due to the rain/snow, it was postponed to today and was finally greeted by sunny, clear weather in a spring schedule that has been decimated by weather-related postponements.

The Bearcats allowed only one total run in the two games and received plenty of contributions from their entire roster for the sweep. (For more up close action, please visit BaruchAthletics snapchat within next 12 hours before expiration).

In the first game (11-0 win in five innings), rookie
Cassandra Lagana pitched a three hitter with five strikeouts in the five inning win. Every single player recorded at least one hit, while seven different players had one or more RBI. Eight of the nine players in the lineup also scored at least one run.

Sophomore
Nicole Bellini smacked a pair of doubles as part of a 12-hit attack in the shutout.

In the second game (9-1 win in six innings), the visiting Bloodhounds managed to get on the scoreboard first in their opening at-bat, but Lagana was again too dominant on the mound in allowing only two hits in the last five innings of the game.

Rookie
Olivia Dellston led the way batting 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Senior Jessica Piccolino batted 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI.
