Softball Splits CUNYAC DH vs Brooklyn (Win 14-2, Lose 6-3)

The softball team split their CUNYAC doubleheader vs Brooklyn College Tuesday afternoon at BC Field.  

Game one was a close affair until the Bearcats exploded for nine runs in the fourth, en route to a 14-2 win in five innings. Winning pitcher Cassandra Lagana (7-14) contributed three hits, driving in two RBI. Christina Chin smacked a two-run homer and Kaitlyn Vichas added three RBI for the victors.  

In game two, Juliann Gross opened up the scoring with an RBI single. Vichas added an RBI double to help extend the lead to 2-0.  However, Brooklyn rallied with five in the bottom of the fifth to seal the home victory.  

The split brings the Bearcats record to 8-22 (7-4 CUNYAC).  

The team has a quick turnover with a rescheduled game versus Hunter College tomorrow at 3 p.m. at Randall's Island Field #15.

They conclude their regular season on Sunday, May 1, with a non-conference road doubleheader at The College of New Rochelle beginning at 9:00 am.
