NYU Defeats Bearcats in Three

The women's volleyball team lost in straight sets 25-11, 25-14, 25-10 to the Violets of New York University in a non-conference city clash on Thursday night at NYU's Brooklyn Athletic Facility.

The Violets pounded out 40 kills hitting.293, which included a torrid .467 percentage in the third set, to record their fourth win of the season.

The Bearcats suffered the loss to drop to 6-10 overall.

Stella Chung led the visiting Bearcats with five kills. Danielle Naggar collected 10 digs.

Rayne Ellis led the Violets with 13 kills and Jacqueline Kupeli had 19 digs to lead the hosts in their home opener.

The Bearcats will look to next regroup on Columbus Day, Monday, October 9, with the CUNYAC Multi-Match hosted by York College. The Bearcats will play Medgar Evers College at 2 p.m. followed York College at 4 p.m.
