Bearcats Defeat Skidmore (5-3) at Gene Cusic Classic

The baseball team defeated the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College, 5-3, in a Saturday evening contest in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Bearcats found themselves down early in the second inning, 2-0, but their bats came alive in the sixth inning. RBI doubles by
Jasdeep Buttar and Edwin St. Hilaire tied the contest.

They took over the lead in the seventh inning on RBI singles by
Sean McNamara and Michael McGroarty. St. Hilaire scored on an RBI ground out by Dan Daley in the eighth inning to increase the lead to 5-2.

Skidmore attempted a rally in their final at-bat and scored one run, but
Ryan Warner, who entered the game in relief in the seventh inning, shut them down.

Warner earns the win with a line of three innings, two hits, one run (earned), one walk and two strikeouts.
