St. Joseph's (LI) Rallies to Defeats Bearcats

The Bearcats suffered a disappointing 5-4 loss to the Golden Eagles of St. Joseph's College of Patchogue on Thursday afternoon on Long Island.

The visiting Bearcats started by building a 4-0 advantage, which began with three runs in the third inning.

Gilberto Mendoza, Jr. recorded an RBI on a fielder's choice, followed by Raymond Maurer crossing home plate untouched while Mendoza was stealing second base. Mendoza also quickly came around to score on a wild pitch for the 3-0 lead.

The lead grew to 4-0 in the sixth inning as Edwin St. Hilaire scored on a wild pitch.

Unfortunately, the Golden Bearcats cut the score to 4-3 on a three-run homer by Lou Daria in the bottom six. The tied it in the bottom seventh and went ahead in the bottom eight on an RBI single to rally for the 5-4 home win.
