Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Women's Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight, Beat Staten Island (21, 25, 14)

The women's volleyball team won a hard-fought CUNYAC match in three sets on Thursday evening in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats totaled 46 kills compared to 28 by the visiting Dolphins for a 25-21, 27-25, 25-14 home sweep.

The two teams went extra in the second set and the Bearcats found themselves down 25-24 staring at defeat, but kills by Yijia Cai, Stella Chung and Taylor Mello helped rally for the 27-25 win. That proved crucial as the Bearcats used their momentum to cruise to an easy win in the third set.

Cai and Katherine Chen led the attack with 12 kills each.

Chung had nine kills to go along with 11 digs.

Chen also recorded 19 assists and Cindy Cui had 18 assists.

Danielle Naggar collected 13 digs.

The Bearcats will hit the road on Saturday morning for a tri-match at St. Joseph's College of Patchogue on Long Island. They will play the host St. Joseph's at 10:00 a.m. followed by Manhattanville at 12:00 p.m.
