Bearcats Drop DH to Staten Island

The Bearcats lost both games of a CUNYAC doubleheader to the College of Staten Island Dolphins on Saturday afternoon.

In the first game, the Bearcats lost 4-3. They were down 4-0 in the fourth inning, but were able to plate one run in the sixth on an RBI single by Angel Acevedo.

They added two more in their final at-bat on a Gerardo Roque RBI double and sacrifice fly RBI by Edwin St. Hilaire. Unfortunately, the rally would fall short in the one-run loss.

Jordan Wilson of Staten Island had two hits and two RBI to lead the Dolphins in the opening win.

The second game Staten Island won again, 7-2. They quickly took a five run lead by the end of the second inning and added two more in the fifth.

The Bearcats scored with a run in each of the third and seventh innings. Michael McGroarty accounted for both runs with an RBI single in each inning.

Christian Capellan had a complete game with five punch-outs for Staten Island.
