Baseball Defeats CCNY for Third Straight Win

The baseball team defeated the Beavers of CCNY, 9-4, in a conference road contest on Thursday afternoon at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank, New York.

The game featured the Bearcats taking a 4-0 lead, the Beavers rallying to tie, and then the Bearcats scoring five runs in the eight inning for the win to help split the season series.

Michael McGroarty had a monster game batting 4-for-6, with three runs scored and one RBI. Edwin St. Hilaire had three RBI.

Paul Sirakowski earned the win in relief with three scoreless innings, one hit allowed and five strikeouts to keep the Beavers off the bases.

Bryan Flannery pitched a solid six innings in the no decision with four strikeouts.

Davic Capellan's RBI triple in the five-run eighth inning stood as the winning hit.

Anthony Cacchione was tops for the opponents batting 3-for-5 with two RBI.
