Women's Tennis Defeats Hunter 6-3, Bearcats Now 5-0 Overall

The Bearcats continue their strong start to their fall schedule with a very important 6-3 CUNYAC win against their rival the Hawks of Hunter College on Saturday afternoon at the Billie Jean King U.S. National Tennis Center in Queens.

The visiting Bearcats won two of the three doubles and four of the six singles en route to the conference win on a sunny afternoon.

Ava Deguzman won at first singles 6-1, 6-0, and teamed with Natalie Ibelhaupt for the win at first doubles 8-2. Ibelhaupt also won at sixth singles, 7-5, 6-3.

Regina Kelley rallied to win at fourth singles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-0. She also teamed with Erica Sheludenko to win at third doubles, 8-4. Shudelenko also won at fifth singles, 6-1, 6-4

The Bearcats are now 5-0 on their overall regular season schedule. Their next match is on Tuesday at Kean University in Union, New Jersey.
