Baruch alum and three-time CUNYAC All-Star Victor Carrano has been hired as assistant coach of the men's and women's cross country teams.

A Macaulay Honors College student, Carrano recently graduated with a 3.89 grade-point average with a major in finance.

He excelled for the Bearcats earning all-conference accolades as a sophomore and junior, highlighted by an eighth-place finish at the 2019 CUNYAC Cross Country Championships. He was also voted Baruch Men's Cross Country MVP twice. In addition, he was also Baruch's top finisher at the 2019 NCAA Division III Atlantic Region Cross Country Championships in Canton, New York.

He will assist Head Coach Angeoline Piguave-Cowan in all areas of the cross country program.

"The effectiveness and success of a team is attained by those who know the sport well," said Piguave-Cowan. "Victor Carrano knows this team very well because he ran for Baruch himself. Our cross country team has gained a successful leader."

"Running for the Baruch men's cross country team during my time in college was a tremendous experience," said Carrano. "I'm excited to be returning as an assistant coach and look forward to supporting the cross country program in this new capacity."
