Baseball Wins CUNYAC Regular Season Title, Split DH with John Jay

The baseball team went on to split a CUNYAC Doubleheader against John Jay College on Saturday afternoon at Maimonides Park on Coney Island.

The visiting Bearcats won the first game 10-2 as Matthew Lawlor recorded his fourth CUNYAC complete game win and Pedro Tejada, Jr. smacked a two-run homer in the third inning.

The host Bloodhounds jumped out to a 5-1 lead in the second game, but a furious seventh inning rally by the Bearcats could only get them as close as the final score 6-4.

By winning the first game, the Bearcats at the time upped their record to 9-0, which was good to finish in first place with three CUNYAC games still to play.
