Bearcats Fall in CUNYAC Semi-Final

The Bearcats traveled to Hunter College on Thursday night to face off in a CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) semifinal playoff match.

Throughout the evening, the Bearcats put up a fight against the Hawks, but fell in three (19-25, 24-26, 19-25).

During the second set, the Bearcats led the majority of the way with as much as a five-point lead (16-11) but the Hawks momentum carried them to the two-point (26-24) narrow victory en route to winning overall 3-0.

Dibjot Kaur led the Bearcats in the stats sheet with 12 kills followed by Karolina Lundqvist with six. Kaur is now fifth on the CUNYAC leader board for her average with 2.66 kills per set.

Karen Pozo Castro dished out 15 assists in the match.

The Bearcats also played excellent defense as Caroline Elfner had eight digs followed by Kaur's six and Pei Qiong Ren's five.

Bethany Tomaneng had 26 assists for the Hunter Hawks and Izabella Williams had 13 kills.
