Otterbein Downs Bearcats at Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers

On Saturday morning, the baseball team lost to Otterbein University 5-1 in Fort Myers, Florida. 

The non-conference contest was a pitching duel for the first six innings with neither team scoring. 

Otterbein, who plays in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), opened up the scoring in their top half of the seventh with shortstop Daniel Ulh smacking a homer and he also added an RBI double in the eighth inning for the 2-0 advantage. 

The Bearcats added a run in their bottom half of the eighth on an RBI ground out by Roy Longarzo that brought home Michael Rossi. 

Otterbein added three insurance runs in their top half of the ninth and held the Bearcats off in their final at-bat for the 5-1 victory. 

Benjamin Norwood gets the no decision after pitching 5.2 innings of shutout ball allowing only five hits with two strikeouts. 

Rossi finished batting 2-for-3 with a double.
