Head Coach
Jose Negroni will begin his 12th year as head coach of the softball program.
Negroni joined the program in 2001 as an assistant coach and was later named head coach prior to the start of the 2002 season.
Since he took over as head coach, Negroni has helped the program rise and they finished the 2008 spring season with a school record 25 wins and their first-ever post-season berth (ECAC).
The team would later win their first CUNYAC Championship in 2010 and went on to play in the NCAA Division III National Championship Regional Tournament hosted by Rhode Island College.
In addition to softball duties, Jose also serves as the the Public Address Announcer and music DJ for all Baruch men's and women's home basketball games in the ARC Arena.
Jose is in his 22nd year working full-time for the New York City Public School System (Academy of Career and Living Skills) in the Bronx.
Penny Weiner, Towson State '78

Assistant Coach
Penny Weiner will begin her 13th overall year with the softball program and her 11th year as an assistant coach.
She helped start the softball team in 2000 and served as its first head coach during the 2000 and 2001 seasons.
The Manhattan resident is a 1978 graduate of Towson State College, where she earned a B.S. degree in physical education. She later earned a master's degree in 1986 in adaptive physical education from Queens College.
Penny has a long history of involvement with Baruch as she also served as the head women's basketball coach from 1987-1995.
She compiled a record of 79-83 and took the team to the final of the CUNYAC Tournament twice.
An avid runner, she has run in the prestigious New York City Marathon 14 times.
Her biggest accomplishment, according to Penny, is that she has survived Breast Cancer!
Penny, who loves to coach and work with kids, works full-time for the New York City Public School System as an adaptive physical education teacher at the Academy of Career and Living Skills in the Bronx.

Associate Head Coach/Recruiting Coordinator, Seventh Season
Anthony will begin his seventh season as a member of the coaching staff.
He also serves as the team’s recruiting coordinator and bench coach.
Anthony was born and raised in the Bronx, and received his associates degree in communications from SUNY Morrisville College in 1993. He would later receive his BA degree in theatre from Lehman College (class of 1999).
In addition, he received his first master's degree in 2001 from Mercy College, specializing in both general and special education. He recently completed his second master's degree in school counseling.
Since joining Baruch seven years ago, Anthony along with Coach Penny Weiner have helped assist Head Coach Jose Negroni by turning the softball program into a yearly championship contender in the CUNY Athletic Conference.
