Baruch College Director of Athletics and Recreation Heather Mac Culloch named Alexander Moule as the new volleyball coach at Baruch College on July 5, 2022.

Moule will coach both the men's and women's programs that compete in the CUNY Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) and nationally at the NCAA Division III level.

"I am so thrilled to have Alex join our Bearcats family in the capacity of Head Coach for both our women's and men's teams," said Mac Culloch. "I am confident Alex will continue the success of both our programs with his broad set of skills, knowledge, and experience. His vision and passion for the game are just the type of infusion the Baruch Bearcats need to take their game to the next level."

Born and raised in Rockaway Beach, New York, Alex was a four-sport athlete at St. Edmund Prep High School in Brooklyn and helped start their volleyball program.

He attended Lasell University in Massachusetts and earned his B.A in Sociology. During his time at Lasell, he played three seasons (2015-2017) on their Division III volleyball team and was a part of the programs' first only Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship in 2015, where he was named to the All-Tournament Team. That championship team  played in the NCAA tournament, and interestingly, he played against Baruch in that NCAA first round as the Bearcats won a nail-biter in five sets in the ARC Arena.

After playing in college, Moule began his career in coaching. In his third year as the Fontbonne Hall Academy Head Coach, he won the C.H.S.A.A. Brooklyn Queens Championship, the C.H.S.A.A. City Championship and finished as the runner up in the C.H.S.A.A. State Championship Tournament. He most recently coached the Poly Prep High School boys' program and has coached the club Brooklyn Elite Volleyball since 2020.

"There is no greater feeling when a group of individuals achieve one common goal. I am excited for the opportunity to be the head coach of the Baruch College women's and men's volleyball teams. I understand there is a rich history of success within the Bearcat athletics department and through hard work and collaboration, I plan to add to this legacy as the new head coach," said Moule.

Off the court at Lasell, Alex was involved in different forms of activism. He became a certified Child Assault Prevention Specialist and organized a social justice campaign called Lasell talks Mass incarceration. He made trips to the Massachusetts State House lobbying for systemic change within the criminal justice system and was honored by Lasell with the "Diversity and Inclusion" award.

Alex was a finalist in the Business department "Test Your Big Grant Idea" competition and used the prize money to fund his startup coffee shop "Wise clock Cafe" at Jacob Riis Park, which he owned the last four years. He founded Riis Park Volleyball Academy in 2018, which offers tournaments and clinics for adults and children during the summer.
