Gregory Wyzykowski enters his 10th season as Head Coach of the Baruch College men's and women's tennis programs, having built one of the most successful and consistent tennis programs in the City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) since his arrival in 2017.
During the 2025-26 season, Wyzykowski guided the men's team to its eighth consecutive CUNYAC Championship and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance, extending the program's dominance within the conference. The Bearcats finished with a 16-4 overall record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. For his efforts, Wyzykowski was named the 2026 CUNYAC Men's Tennis Coach of the Year, marking his third consecutive selection and further cementing his reputation as one of the conference's premier coaches.
On the women's side, he led the Bearcats to runner-up finishes in both the CUNYAC Championship and ECAC Division III Championship, continuing the program's sustained success and postseason presence.
The 2024-25 campaign was equally impressive. Wyzykowski directed the men's team to its seventh straight CUNYAC title and 13th consecutive conference championship match appearance. The championship berth secured the program's seventh NCAA Tournament appearance under his leadership. The women's team reached the CUNYAC Finals for the fifth consecutive season, and Wyzykowski was recognized as the CUNYAC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year for the second straight season and third time overall.
In 2023-24, Wyzykowski earned both the CUNYAC Men's and Women's Tennis Coach of the Year awards after leading both programs to conference championships and NCAA Tournament berths. The previous season, the men's team captured its fifth consecutive conference title and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while the women finished as conference runners-up.
Since taking over the Baruch tennis programs, Wyzykowski has transformed both teams into perennial championship contenders. The men's team has captured sevenconsecutive CUNYAC championships and made seven NCAA Tournament appearances under his guidance, while the women's program has earned multiple conference titles and established itself among the conference's elite.
Beyond his coaching responsibilities, Wyzykowski has remained active in collegiate athletics administration and service. He has served on NCAA Regional Ranking Committees, participated on the CUNYAC Championship Committee, and represented the NCAA as a site representative during the 2021 NCAA Division III Championships hosted by Johns Hopkins University. He is also committed to community outreach, organizing free tennis clinics for local youth and promoting the growth of the sport throughout New York City.
Wyzykowski brings more than three decades of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and junior levels. Prior to arriving at Baruch, he served as Head Women's Tennis Coach at St. Elizabeth University (2016-17) and spent nine seasons leading the NCAA Division I women's tennis program at Seton Hall University (2007-16). Before Seton Hall, he founded and built the women's tennis program at Georgian Court University (2000-06), earning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Coach of the Year honors in 2005-06. His collegiate coaching résumé also includes assistant coaching experience at Fairleigh Dickinson University (2006-07) and a successful rebuilding effort at Brookdale Community College (1997-99).
At the high school level, Wyzykowski coached at South River High School from 1989-99 and Shore Regional High School from 2000-05, earning Coach of the Year honors on two occasions. His involvement with the USTA includes coaching multiple Eastern Zonal teams, highlighted by leading the Boys' 14-and-Under team to a gold medal in 2008.
A USPTA-certified professional, Wyzykowski has served as Head Tennis Professional at Rumson Country Club and has worked extensively with Adidas Tennis Camps and College Tennis Academy programs. He is also an active ITA and USTA-certified official, officiates New Jersey high school tennis, and holds certification as an I.A.A.B.O. basketball official.
Wyzykowski earned his degree in Industrial Administration from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Away from the tennis court, he is the owner of Custom Financial Strategies and remains active in community service as a member and past president of the South Amboy-Sayreville Rotary Club.
