BOX SCORE

The men's soccer team lost a 3-2 contest to Hunter College in a CUNY Athletic Conference match up on Wednesday night at the Met Oval in the Maspeth section of Queens.

The Bearcats started strong by scoring two goals within the first 25 minutes to capture the early advantage against their rivals.

Freshman Daniel Ospina (Queens, N.Y./Francis Lewis) started the scoring at 13:05 with a well-placed free kick over the defensive wall that entered through the upper right corner for his first collegiate goal.

Freshman Jacob Cohen (Great Neck, N.Y./Great Neck North) created the second goal during an attack that saw him brought down inside the box for the quick penalty kick call by the match official at 24:19. Freshman Dominick Cinquemani (Queens, N.Y./Christ the King) calmly knocked home the goal for a 2-0 lead and his first collegiate goal.

Hunter rallied in the 35th minute and scored their first on a curling free kick over the defensive wall by Danny Vera to cut the deficit to one goal.

They added a second goal 11 minutes later on a strike inside the box by Oscar Dotti for the tying goal that shifted the momentum to Hunter's favor.

Both teams attacked during the second half, but Hunter took the lead for good on a run by Saif Zureikat on the left flank that resulted in the eventual game-winning goal in the 62:00 minute.

Baruch led in the shots category (17-14) all evening in a match that featured 42 totals fouls (Hunter 26, Baruch 16).

The Bearcats will look to shake off the loss with a conference road match this Saturday against the New York City College of Technology. Kick off at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn is scheduled for Noon.
