Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Bearcats Past Bloodhounds; Kunkel Grabs Career-High 18 Rebounds

The men’s basketball team led from start to finish to earn a convincing 64-40 home conference win against John Jay College of Criminal Justice on Friday night in the ARC Arena.

The Bearcats, who are 10-1 in their last 11 contests, did not have any players in double-digit scoring, but did manage to get at least five players with at least seven points for a balanced scoring attack.

In addition, for the second straight game, every Baruch player on the roster saw action this evening at home in the ARC Arena.

George Kunkel stood out this evening with a career-high 18 rebounds, seven points and four assists in 25 minutes of action. Mike Dietz and Mickey Abbatiello scored a team-high nine points each.

Baruch shot 47 percent (25-53) from the field to record their 12th win, while the visiting Bloodhounds shot only 25 percent (15-59) to drop to 4-10 overall and 1-3 in conference play.

Ryan Olsen led John Jay this evening with 10 points.

The men’s basketball team will continue their conference schedule on Wednesday, January 14, with a 7:00 pm road contest at City College of New York.
