Igor Polisski scored twice and Stefan Cocea added another to help the Bearcats defeat the Bloodhounds from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 3-1, in a CUNYAC home match on a cold and overcast Saturday afternoon at the Met Oval in Maspeth, New York.

With the victory, the Bearcats raise their record to 6-5-3 overall and a perfect 6-0-2 (1st place) in CUNYAC, while John Jay drop to 2-11-2 and 1-5-2 in conference play.

Polisski came on as a sub in the 28th minute and quickly went to work by scoring his first goal two minutes later on an assist from Freddy Carrasco-Dance.

He scored his second and eventual game-winning goal of the match in the 66th minute on a through ball assist from Jacob Cohen for the 2-0 lead.

Stefan Cocea put the match out of reach for John Jay with a perfectly placed free kick in the 72nd minute for the 3-0 advantage.

John Jay pulled one back during a scramble in front of the net to score an unassisted goal by Joceny Theresias at the 80:00 minute mark.

Overall, Baruch out-shot John Jay, 24-8, and kept their goalkeeper Joseph Rahilly busy all afternoon by recording seven total saves.

Valiantsin Kirykovich attempted four shots, while Boris Lipsman had three shots. Nelson DiBastiano earned the victory again with two saves.

The men’s soccer team will return to action to finish their regular season CUNYAC block schedule on Wednesday, October 21, with a 6:00 pm home match at the Met Oval against City Tech.
