New Jersey City Take Two From Bearcats (8-4, 8-0), Team Announces Scheduling Changes, Play Hunter Monday

The Baruch Bearcats dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the Gothic Knights of New Jersey City University on Thursday afternoon in Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Bearcats started the first game by scoring the first run in their opening a-bat. Despite the Gothic Knights getting the first two outs, the Bearcats managed to load the bases and Melissa Mejia walked to score Melanie Pellegrino from third base for the early 1-0 lead.

The Gothic Knights scored the next three runs but the Bearcats fought back to tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the third inning on a double by Cristina Arce to score Gisell Alix and Andrea Tepfer.

The Gothic Knights broke open the game in bottom of the third with five runs on four hits to eventually win, 8-4.

In the second game, the Baruch offense stayed quiet as they were limited to two hits in a mercy rule five inning game with the score of 8-0.

The loss drops the Bearcats to 12-11 overall, while New Jersey City improve to 11-15.
