BOX SCORE

The men’s soccer team lost a 1-0 contest to NYU in a non-conference match played Saturday night at Gaelic Park on the campus of Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York.

The home team Violets of NYU scored the lone goal of the night at the 14:37 mark of the opening half. Brandon Hintz one-timed a left-footed shot into the bottom left corner of the goal on an assist from Anthony Tumbioli for the early 1-0 lead.

The Bearcats threatened on several occasions to tie the yearly match, but could not put a goal past the defense. Overall, the visiting Bearcats (1-3-1) attempted six total shots with sophomore Boris Lipsman leading the team with two attempts.

NYU led in the shot category (11-6) this evening to improve their record to 3-4 on the season.

The Bearcats will return to action on Wednesday, September 23, with a 3:30 pm CUNYAC match at the City College of New York. Please note CCNY will host this match at Randall’s Island.
