Bearcats, Medgar Evers Play to 1-1 Draw

The men's soccer team and the Cougars of Medgar Evers College played a 1-1 draw on Wednesday afternoon in a CUNYAC contest at Old Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn.

The Cougars (3-6-2, 2-1-1, 7 pts CUNYAC) scored first on a goal by Kyheo Farquharson at the 55:15 mark of the second half. Duane Trellis started the play by sending a cross from the right side that met Farquharson inside the box for a 1-0 lead.

The visiting Bearcats (3-3-2, 3-0-1, 10pts CUNYAC) tied the contest at 69:40. Valiantsin Kirykovich scored his first goal of the season on an assist from Freddy Carrasco-Dance.

The two teams stayed tied the rest of regulation time and two overtime periods to complete the 1-1 draw.

Individually, Dance finished with four shots, while Kirykovich and Vincent Cruz had three shot attempts each. Nelson DiBastiano led the defensive efforts with four total saves.

Overall, Baruch led in shots (16-5) and corner kicks (9-1), but could not score the second goal against the strong Cougars defense.

The men's soccer team will continue their CUNYAC schedule on Saturday with a Noon time road contest at Brooklyn College. Please note this match will take place at the College of Staten Island soccer complex in Staten Island, New York.
