BOX SCORE vs Eastern Mennonite

The Bearcats split their two softball games on Sunday in Salem, Virginia.

The team was in Salem for the Ferrum Invitational, but their opening round games on Saturday were cancelled due to unplayable field conditions with the rain storm. As a result, the schedule was revised on Sunday to accommodate two games.

In the first game against Eastern Mennonite University (9-1 loss), the Bearcats scored their only run on an RBI double by Nicole Flint to score Michele Runko.

In the second game, the Bearcats (2-4) defeated Ferrum by the score of 2-1 behind the solid pitching of staff ace Andrea Tepfer. She pitched a three-hitter with seven strikeouts to record the complete game victory.

Baruch scored their two runs as the home team in the bottom of the third inning. Idelissa Lluveres smacked a two RBI double to score Cristina Cespedes and Andrea Feeney for the winning runs.

The softball team will return to action next Saturday, March 20, with a Noon time non-conference road doubleheader against NYU Poly at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.
