Lionel Hilaire scored 29 points (5-8 3fg) and Chris Beauchamp had 15 points (3-5 3fg) to lead the men’s basketball team to an 88-81 ECAC Metro semifinal victory over SUNY-Old Westbury on Saturday afternoon in Old Westbury, New York.

The tournament’s championship game will now feature an all CUNYAC Final as the Bearcats will battle York College on Sunday with tip off scheduled for 1:00 pm at the neutral site of SUNY-Old Westbury. (No live stats or audio available)

The Bearcats shot the ball well again at 58 percent (29-50), and connected on 10-of-20 three-pointers to record the road victory in Long Island. They also connected on 20-of-21 attempts from the free throw line to defeat the regular season champions from the Skyline Conference.

George Kunkel scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds to round out the three double-figure scorers for Baruch (22-7). Arki Wisnu and Tammer Farid finished with nine points each.

During the game, Lionel Hilaire became the third player this season and 18th overall in team history to score 1,000 career points. Hilaire currently owns a career total of 1,014 points.

Senior and 6-10 center Lester Prosper led SUNY-Old Westbury with a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds. The Panthers finish the season with a 21-8 record.
